Rained out Saturday

Yeap, it is raining today.  The weather apps said to be careful flooding is possible.  We drove to go shopping.  We wanted to go to a local place called the Country Bake Shoppe.  However, they are closed till after Easter.  Bummer!  The rain was very heavy on the way to the store.

Rained out Saturday – Country Bake Shoppe

I got the poor cat buried yesterday and finished Zorro!  Glad I did because the rain was very heavy today.

Moving On…

A jury said that Donald Trump should pay $83.3 million in damages Friday, an eye-popping sum that marks the sharpest legal setback for a former president now entangled in multiple criminal and civil cases.  So last night, I had a nice shot of Johnny Walker Green.  My group of friends are happy!  I was also.  He says he is going to appeal it.  To do that he will need a bond of the same size.  Most likely not going to happen loser.

Now about Art

I watched and new Scott Waddell YouTube video.  He recommended going from light to dark on paintings.  It helps with the 3-D effects.  I was taught and took classes where we went from dark to light!  It makes a difference, particularly from his illustrations.  Then watched him examine a William Adolphe Bouguereau painting in Florida near where he lives.  I learned a great deal from both of these videos.  I greatly admire Bouguereau’s paintings.

The Young Shepherdess (1885)

Especially in his own time, Bouguereau was considered to be a great painter by the academic art community.  At the same time, he reviled by the avant-garde art crew.  You know that crew as the Impressionist. Known for his barefoot girls like in the picture above.  The YouTube where Scott said this painting inspired him.  Scott did a very technical analysis of the painting.   I was stunned by his analysis of the painting.  Next week moreover, I will be going back to my oil painting exercises with new energy.  Tasks in the project plans.  Thank You Scott for the inspiration!
