Venality and Dark Triad Types
Today’s post concerns one part of a dark triad behavior. While watching and listening this morning to a Star Wars commentary, Alan used the word “Venality“. This word was not a word I use or even know at all. My vocabulary in the past was mostly science based. Due to being dyslexic and with a touch of ADHD, reading and increasing my vocabulary were not goals in my education. However, now learning to write better and expand my knowledge base. I focus on increasing my skills and knowledge in language and writing areas as part of my 12 week year plan.
Therefore I looked the word “Venality” up. The first Google hit was the Cambridge dictionary. I figured this was the best place for a good definition. You will get a win with either the Cambridge or Oxford dictionaries. As that on Ancestry.com, I found many of my great great grandfather’s had gone to these two schools. They define the English language the best.
The definitions of venality and venal
So here are the definitions of “Venality and Venal“.
- Venality Noun – the state or quality of being venal (= willing to behave dishonestly in exchange for money):
- Venal Adjective – A venal person is willing to behave in a way that is not honest or moral in exchange for money:
Well we know this applies to Mr Piggy and Mr Octaputin. They both go after money, have no moral standards and behave poorly. For them money is a tool to impress and control other people. Not paying your bills, that has a control behavior as Mr Piggy has a ton of folks he has stiffed. They take him to court and he then uses the legal system to run up their lawyer’s costs by sending daily letters that your lawyer has to charge you for having to read it. I had a friend go broke during his divorce due to this ploy. On the other hand, Mr Octaputin uses money to bribe and payoff his assassins, other leaders, his hackers and minions. Thus, they are both the venality of evil!
Exploring and observing dark triad behavior
One reading assignment in college was reading writer Niccolò Machiavelli book “The Prince“. The book at 115 pages can be quickly read. It defines “Machiavellianism” in full detail. Therefore it lays out many points of the strongman’s game plan. The book describes how to manipulate others, deceiving them and tricks to achieve ruling goals. Moreover, money and wealth are used in this process. In previous posts, I stated all you have to do is watch a leader’s behavior and listen to their words. Evidently, Octaputin uses confusion. He floods media with conflicting noise made possible by the speed of diffusion of information and social media now days. This takes money to create this kind of media noise. An other example of the venality of evil he does with his wealth. Mr Piggy also uses confusion. His long rallies, where he throws as much do-do on the wall as possible adds to the minions confusion. It sounds good unless you are listening critically. Then it becomes just disconnected words.
Dazed and confused by the venality of dark triad types
So if you are confused. This mental unfocused state becomes a sign you are being mislead. Then Machiavellianism has achieve one goal! You are dazed and confused, but they said something that stuck in your brain. Obviously this is a sign you have received a mental treatment from a dark triad ruler. The coping skill, don’t listen to them or their minions. They jump around with many disconnected ideas, jumbled sentences and crazy statements. If they do it very fast, you know it is bogus!
