Evolving
This post is about evolving. As we age and our brain matures – we evolve. I took a course in evolution back in school. The professor made it harder than it needed to be. What he did not talk about was the changes within our own bodies and nervous system. Thus today I am looking back on my life journey. I do my daily chores. I am sorting out grape seeds to stratify them. Many fruit seeds require a period of cold, moist conditions to begin the germination process. In nature, this is achieved when seeds sit in the ground over the winter. However, this is a random process. These seed are collected so I can do an F1 generation. This is part of my projects list. To take cuttings and graft them and to produce more grape vines from seeds and cutting.
Later today
Later today I will look at the CDC website for the latest flu and COVID-19 information. Then I will extract data and update another website. I strongly suggest everyone get the flu and updated COVID vaccines. Flu is already hitting many people. Being smart about our body is about evolving.
Coping Skills and evolving mentally
In my second Master’s degree, I learned I needed better coping skills. I also read a book on Emotional Intelligence. I had no idea about emotional intelligence. I can’t say I had a high E-IQ at that time but I worked at my coping skills and studied to develop my skills in this area.
What I am seeing now
Sadly and consequently, many people have not evolved mental. Our schools only teach reading, writing and math. They don’t teach students many social skills. As I looked at the democratic convention this week. However, I saw many people have evolved in their emotional intelligence and are countering Mr Piggy and his group of minions. They are using very good emotional intelligence against a want to be authoritarian ding dong. Mr Piggy is a failure. Thus, he is not a good choice as a leader. His attacks, name calling and general childish behavior mixed with what appears to be a dandy case of developing dementia. Shows he clearly lacks emotional intelligence. Significantly, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz showed great emotional intelligence.
My Ancestors made goofs and sometimes good decisions
As I plowed into my ancestors and history. I had to come to terms with their good decisions, goofs and malfeasance in decisions. Making good leadership decisions is not easy. It requires study of the past, thinking about your own emotions and how you react to challenging situations. I then reflected on the decisions I made in my life. I am not perfect, but I am using my evolving knowledge and skills to move forward. Therefore, I have continued my mental and emotional evolution in my life. Some of my plans have worked out and others have not.
The summary
Please keep learning and evolving! Thanks!
Note – I wrote this today quickly with excellent readability and SEO. Thus I have improved my writing skills!
