About My Classes

RUBIES, SAPPHIRE & TOPAZ

This course will help develop and expand your faceting skills. You will learn to facet high MOH’s stones.  This class is for the more experienced faceter. We will help you continue your skill development. We will use Batt Laps, diamond pastes, and special laps to facet rubies, sapphires, topaz, and alexandrite lab created rough into gems.

OVALS, PEARS, CUSHIONS AND ANTIQUE CUSHIONS

This course will help develop and expand your faceting skills. Additionally, you will learn to facet the more complex meet point designs of ovals, pears, cushions, antique cushion and art stone designs.  This class is for more experienced faceters. Consequently, you can continue your skills development with more challenging meet point designs.  Faceters will get a kit with my book on faceting ovals, pears, cushions, antique cushion, and art stone designs.  We will start with preformed stones in laser gem and quartz to save time.  Furthermore, the book will include what makes a good design for these shaped gems from an artistic point of view and current market trends for these gems.

Calibrated Stones & Production Runs

This course will help develop and expand your faceting skills.  Additionally, you will learn to facet stones to meet certain sizes for standard Stuller settings. This class is for more experienced faceters. We will continue your skills development. Faceters will get a kit with my book on faceting calibrated stones for standard settings. We will start with preformed stones in laser gem and quartz to save time. The book will include how to facet competition stones, advanced polishing techniques and how to do production runs for matching stones and current market trends for matching gems.
