January 5th

Well it is this morning of January 5th.  I am writing to get myself going on my daily tasks and reflecting on yesterday.  So today is about January 5th reflections on my life. Yesterday, I set some goals and then printed them out.  Today, I will be putting some of them into action.

Today

I edited one page on one of my websites to get the SEO on Yoast into the Green.  Accordingly, I added transition words.  Made sure I was NOT using passive voice.  Additionally, I added pictures and links to the About Us page.

This is one of the Pictures I added!

David Martin PhD one of my mentors in my masters program

David was a major influence for me.  He got me back into exercising after my knee injury in high school.  I started running again.  Then added weight training and a sport.  The sport was fencing.  I have to say, I loved fencing.  In the basement are my fencing foil and epee.  I can still at age 73 do many of the moves I learned from my two teachers.   More on these men later on in another post.

I took four classes from David.  I then did computer work to setup his human performance database with programs to generate statistics.  We then co-authored several journal articles.  Being dyslexic and a bit ADHD, the first course was difficult.  I also had a difficult girl friend at the time.  That is another story for other posts. Consequently, I did OK in David’s first class on human physiology.   I did not really know how at that time how to study well either.  Nor did I know taking test was about a teacher trial.

Now about my plan for today

I need to think about what I want and need to do for the next 12 weeks.  This period starts now and goes to March 31st.  Furthermore, I have art to do.  I need to finish a portrait of my gold and silver work teacher Jim Richardson.  He died last year after a horrible auto accident.  He survived and then died on July 5th at a friends house.  He helped me increase my skills to create these earrings with stones I had faceted.

This is the oil portrait I am working on to honor Jim at William Holland School.  I have a good deal more to do on it.  Including making a custom black frame for canvas.

Today, January 5th these are my reflections.  I have tasks to do and a 12 week plan to work on.

  1. It is good to remember those we admired on our life journey. I learned a lesson from David’s death. Since then I visit my mentors now.
