More Shocking Russian Special operations against Europe
Daylight assassinations or attempted coups, both the scale and the scope of Russia’s covert operations abroad have now reached a level not seen since the height of the Cold War. These are the shocking Russian special operations seen by European Democracies daily now. Nearly every week new covert operations bearing Russian fingerprints have been uncovered. This post concerns the continuing Russian special operation seen in western Europe. These operations that come to light are just a tiny fraction of the total number. It’s not necessarily that they are operating in a different way but the scale has grown.
The US media is not really covering the sabotaging and violence
Per NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on November 4,2024. Russia has currently stepping up its sabotage campaign across the EU as part of Moscow’s hybrid war against the West. “Russia is conducting an intensifying campaign of hybrid attacks across our allied territories, interfering directly in our democracies, sabotaging industry, and committing violence”. This is not surprising per my article on format media. The question readers need to ask, “why this is not being covered by US billionaire media”?
Aktivnye meropriyatiya, “active measures,” was a term used by the Soviet Union (USSR) from the 1950s onward. This term describes a gamut of covert and deniable political influence and subversion operations. These operations include (but not limited to) the establishment of front organizations, the backing of friendly political movements, the orchestration of domestic unrest and the spread of disinformation.
Now Sweden on January 27, 2025 catches a cable line breaker
This news appeared on European news sources. Particularly, I only found one major US source reporting this. Most media used the “suspected” phase. Whereas Marine Traffic data showed the Vezhen passed the fiber optic cable at 0045 GMT on 26 January. The fiber cable connected Sweden to Latvia’s radio and TV.
