This was in a cartoon and before that a parody about the original referred to François, Duke of Anjou‘s wooing of Elizabeth I of England. I heard it first in a in the 1953 Tom and Jerry cartoon Pecos Pest, which uses a version arranged and performed by Shug Fisher, in character as “Uncle Pecos.” In Pecos Pest, Jerry’s Uncle Pecos stays with him while getting ready for a television appearance, and continues to pluck Tom’s whiskers to use as guitar strings throughout the cartoon. Consequently, I hope you’ll enjoy it! Crambone! A bit of humor before I get down to the real stuff.
Now to the reality we face this year
In this post, I talked about the behaviors and psychology of authoritarian rulers. Right now, they are the biggest threat to our planet, the future and the human race. Sadly in America, we have so called conservative people who think this is fine. Emphatically no, this behavior is not fine. The personality traits known as the dark triad in leaders are not good for our future. Their rule predicts a very dark future indeed. They will create another dark age of death and destruction if allowed to run free. We have known these dark times before several time! One was the Bronze collapse. Another was after the black plague. Sorry gentile readers, in any event, I don’t think we are up for death and destruction.
For Example Europe and the Pacific area in the 1930’s to 1945
Dark Triad leader were the reason for world war two. We had three or more major dark triad leaders during this time. However, they gave rise to our current crisis. When other countries invade other countries to gain land and wealth, that is a big clue to a dark triad leader. They make up stories of past glories or empires that no longer exist now. They use their lies and power to charm the masses and/or kill their opponents. Our high school history books don’t really go into this too deep. The reason history books don’t dive into this appears simple. History text books want to keep it simple. History is very complex! Much easier to list kings, wars and events. Easier to test on those facts. The difficulty comes with explaining why people and leaders do what they do.
How I learned the reality of War
Let’s start with my father. He would wake us up at night screaming. Thus my father had very bad and sad dreams. He served in World War two in the Pacific. One night in 1972, he told me what he did and saw in the war. I now realize he had PTSD from these memories. Clues about war were all around me from those who lost loved ones in the wars before. I grew up with people from the wars who lost loved one. One of my uncles had a brother listed as still on patrol from the battle of Midway. Many of my father’s friends had this also had PTSD!
I was pretty sure I would go into the military after college due the the Vietnam war. But, I had a knee injury playing football. Thus, medically I could not go into the military services due to a bad knee with no ACL and MCL ligaments. I did have friends who went. Some came home in boxes like the men in my sister’s class of 1964 in high school. Many went to Vietnam and never came home!
I had a very good history teachers. From Dr Saggus, I advanced to studying more of the reasons for war even after my classes with him were over. Later, in my graduate programs, I learned about emotional manipulation that psychopathy—a trait characterized by a lack of empathy and remorse—to be the “darkest” of the Dark Triad, in so far as psychopaths generally cause more harm to individuals and to society than do narcissists or “High Machs” “Psychopath” is not a mental health diagnosis; the disorder that most closely represents it in the DSM is antisocial personality disorder. Thus, when I see a person who does not care for other people. This is a red flag!
Right Now we are having a Red Flag Moment
We have a Mr. Trump who has 91 felonies running for president. While he is winning in the primaries, nevertheless his margins show a great deal of dissatisfaction in the republican party. Statistical, the numbers show his future loss. The numbers are just not there to win the big one in the fall for Mr Piggy. In the Russia – Ukraine war. We have a very High Mach leader in Putin killing and bombing Ukraine. He is sending his own citizens to their deaths in meat wave attacks. Here in the United States we have people in congress praising Putin. Mr. Piggy is going to court. He has already lost two major civil cases.
Is there a fix?
Yes, vote them out. Write letters to your congress person stating your displeasure if they are against aid to Ukraine and for Mr Trump!
